El secretario general del PSOE, Pedro Sánchez, ha sido invitado a participar en la reunión del poderoso, influyente y hermético Club Bilderberg, que este año se celebra en el Interalpen Hotel, un lujoso resort de los Alpes austriacos, muy cerca de la localidad de Telfs-Buchen. En total, 130 personalidades de la política, la banca, las finanzas, las grandes multinacionales y la realeza se encerrarán durante cuatro días, a partir del próximo jueves, para debatir a puerta cerrada sobre el futuro del mundo.
En la selecta lista de participantes de esta edición, a la que ha tenido acceso El Confidencial, también figuran, además del líder socialista español, el presidente del Grupo Prisa, Juan Luis Cebrián; la que durante 33 años fuera reina de Holanda y actualmente es princesa de los Países Bajos, Beatriz; el presidente de la aerolínea Ryanair, Michael O'Leary; el ex secretario de Estado de EEUUHenry Kissinger; el general y ex director de la CIA David Petraeus o el ministro holandés de Finanzas, Jeroen Dijsselbloem, rival del español Luis de Guindosen la carrera por la presidencia del Eurogrupo.
También han sido invitados Zanny Minton, directora del prestigioso semanario de ámbito global The Economist; el ex primer ministro italiano, senador y actual presidente de la Universidad Luigi Bocconi, Mario Monti; Ana Patricia Botín, presidenta del Banco Santander; el Chancellor of the Exchequer (ministro de Finanzas) británico, George Osborne; el director del espionaje danés, Thomas Ahrenkiel; el ex primer ministro portugués y presidente del grupo multimedia Impresa, Francisco Pinto Balsemao; el secretario general de la OTAN, Jens Stoltenberg, o el presidente y primer ejecutivo del Royal Bank of Canada, David McKay, entre otros muchos.

La primera reunión del Club Bilderberg se celebró hace ya 61 años, en 1954, en el hotel holandés del mismo nombre. Desde entonces, y siempre por estas fechas, 130 personalidades mundiales se juntan, rodeadas del mayor de los secretos y sin que apenas trascienda nada de lo hablado, para analizar los problemas del mundo. Los miembros del club se autodefinen como los cerebros del mundo, y se podría decir que reúnen más poder que ninguna otra institución.
Quienes han estudiado los secretos y entresijos de este hermético foro sostienen que en el Club Bilderberg se deciden las estrategias queposteriormente seguirán otros organismos supranacionales, como la ONU, la OTAN, el Fondo Monetario Internacional (FMI), el Banco Central Europeo (BCE) o la Comisión Europea, cuyos líderes -o sus número dos- están siempre presentes en las reuniones. A la cita de este año ha sido invitado, por ejemplo, el ex presidente de la Comisión Europea, José Manuel Durao Barroso.
